What is Shop House?

We are an upscale consignment and retail shop. We offer home decor and furniture pieces ranging from vintage, to mid-century modern, and contemporary. 

Does Shop House only sell consignment?

Shop House not only sells consignment items but also new retail items such as candles, blanket throws, pillows, kitchenware, and other home accents. Our goal is to provide you with a complete home shopping experience.

What is consignment?

Consignment is a process whereby Shop House sells your furniture and home goods on your behalf at our shop. Consignment does not mean that the items are old and worn. We only accept high quality gently used pieces at Shop House. 

Why you should consider consignment?

Redecorating, moving, downsizing, or just needing to offload your stock of unique pieces? Shop House is here to help you turn your gently used designer furniture and home goods into a sale. We take the hassle out of selling that can come from other marketplaces with a safe and convenient way to get the most out of your unwanted pieces. Shop House will market, ensure the pieces are priced appropriately and display them in the best way at the shop to entice buyers.

What does Shop House accept for consignment?

We accept Artwork, Home Decor, Furniture, and more. Have a unique piece? Complete a submission form and we will review it.

How do I submit something for consignment?

The first step is to take pictures of your pieces. Then complete our simple form to collect a few details about you and your unique piece. It can be found here. Once that is done we will contact you within 48 hours. All items are subject to Shop House approval. 

What happens after my item is approved for consignment?

A consignment agreement is reviewed and signed by you which states all the terms and conditions the consigned piece will follow. Including the consignment time period, pricing structure, and payout details. Next, you will deliver your pieces to the shop during open hours. Then, sit back and relax while we sell your piece!

How are consigned items priced?

We research each piece to determine the most reasonable price based on brand, quality, and condition. We price to ensure a quick sale while being the most profitable for you. Prices are then reduced every 30 days until the piece is sold or the consignment timeframe ends.

How do I know if my piece has sold?

Shop House will send you an email when your item has sold. 

What is the commission for this service?

When your item sells you will receive 60% of the final sale price. Shop House does not make anything unless you do! 

When do I get paid?

Checks are mailed to the address you provide within 4 weeks of the sale of your piece. 

What happens if my item doesn’t sell?

If any piece does not sell after 90 days, you will need to reclaim the item from the shop. Any items not retrieved 30 days after this will become the property of the shop. 

Does Shop House offer gift certificates?

At this time, we do not offer gift certificates to the shop.
